Snowmobiling
Snowmobile trails near Portage link Columbia County throughout the state. The Winnebago Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club maintains 32 miles of trails. Gain access to numerous motels and restaurants in the Portage area.
Snowmobile maps are available at the Portage Chamber office.

Curling
Established in 1850, the Portage Curling Club is a four-sheet facility operating from late October until March each year, offering leagues and tournaments in winter.
Played on a level sheet of ice, the object of curling is to gain points by “throwing the stone” closest to the center of the “house target” on the opposite end of the rink.

Ice Skating & Sledding
Outdoor ice skating is enjoyed on Bridal Pond in Pauquette Park. The Portage Park and Recreation Department clears snow each winter on Bridal Pond to enable ice skating.
Known to most Portage residents as “The Gully”, Sunrise Park is our winter sledding area for kids.
