NAPA mural featured on artist profile

The mural that adorns the NAPA Auto Parts store in downtown Portage was briefly shown as part of a Wisconsin PBS “Wisconsin Life” profile on artist Kelly Meredith, who has also painted two other murals in Portage.

Her NAPA mural, located at 125 E. Edgewater Street, depicts three distinct eras of automobiles and gas stations.

Kelly’s latest work was installed in June 2020 on the south wall of the Cottonwood Bar & Grill, 312 DeWitt Street, in downtown Portage. The mural depicts the label from Eulberg Brewing Company’s Picnic Beer. The brewery, once located in downtown, closed in 1958.

Her first mural is a depiction of the early people of Portage and appears on the east wall of Wilz Hometown Pharmacy at 140 E. Cook Street.
