The murals in Portage have become a vibrant part of the city’s identity, showcasing its rich history, culture, and community pride. Located mainly in downtown, these colorful works of art depict important moments and the people who helped shape the community from the area’s past — including the indigenous Ho-Chunk Nation, the fur trade, the significance of the Fox-Wisconsin Waterway, fine brewing tradition, and the railroad.
