UW Health is composed of the academic medical facilities of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which includes the UW School of Medicine and Public Health, American Family Children’s Hospital, the UW Medical Foundation and the UW Hospital and Clinics. The 471-bed UW Hospital and Clinics in Madison is recognized among the finest academic medical centers in the nation and has established itself as a leader in pediatrics, ophthalmology, surgery, organ transplantation and cancer care through the UW Carbone Cancer Center—the state’s only comprehensive cancer center. In addition to these outstanding facilities, UW Health operates a number of community-based clinics in the region. The clinic in Portage is a conveniently located medical facility housing the allergy, asthma and immunology clinic; pulmonary clinic; rheumatology clinic; vascular surgery clinic; as well as physicians providing family medicine, internal medicine and pediatric care. In addition, this clinic provides laboratory services. Dean Health System operates three clinics in Portage: Davis Duehr Dean-Portage, a comprehensive eye clinic; Dean Specialty Clinic-Portage; and the Portage Clinic, a Dean/St. Mary’s Regional Clinic. The Portage Clinic offers comprehensive family healthcare services, health assessments and physicals, preventive medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics, geriatrics, minor surgery, footcare and on-site laboratory and X-ray services. In addition, the clinic houses the Dean Specialty Clinic on the second floor. The specialty clinic operates by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays, and also offers on call nursing services. Among the specialties provided are urology, neurology, ENT, gastroenterology, OB/GYN, endocrinology, cardiology, allergy/immunology, pulmonary disease, rheumatology and dermatology. |
